I have this problem with at least a dozen or so windows. iam using marvin double hung wood windows and casing them with the t-366 trim and rosettes at the top corners. i also have this problem on some round top windows (at the tops). another problem with this is the exterior is brick so resetting the windows are out of the question.. The po had replaced 80% of the windows but had not gotten to the trim. the issue i have is the jam does not match with the drywall. in some places it is even but mostly it is 1/4-1/2" below the drywall grade.. Most trim carpenters don't even use a tape to trim window casing. it's all done by eye, with a sharp pencil, a miter saw and an 18-gauge nailer. how to install window trim. you don't even need a tape measure! courtesy of the family handyman next project . dealing with problem drywall: projects less than 1/8 in..

Help.. unique problem with window casings! long story short, the 'contractors' that installed my new windows, did not measure and cut down the casings to fit the width of the wall before intalling.. as a result, i am left (after firing them for many bad practices) with about an inch of 'casing' jutting out from the wall... The display might be affected by other settings as well, like if y our wall and/or window is set to display symbolic cut, projected w or w/o overhead..
